Who can apply ?

Any 12th pass or anyone who is appearing for the plus two (+2) examination can apply for the NDA Entrance examination. One must note that a candidate must be within the age group of 16 ½ to 19 ½ to apply and qualify for this exam.

This exam is usually conducted in II steps, first being the written examination which usually consist of General Aptitude and Mathematics to check the students academic progress and calibre whereas the next step is the interview round which helps in assessing the intellectual and mental abilities, the swiftness and communication skills of the students.

• Academic Qualification – The three wings under the National Defence Academy are the Army Wing, Naval Wing and the Air Force. Usually the qualification required is 10+2/ any equivalent. But in the case of Naval and Air Force Wing, Physics and Mathematics is obligatory. Moreover students appearing for the 10+2 can also apply for the examination.

ARMY = 10+2 or Equivalent NAVAL = 10+2 or Equivalent (with Physics & Mathematics) AIR FORCE = 10+2 or Equivalent (with Physics & Mathematics)

• Age Limit - The Age Limit must be between 16.5 – 19.5 years

• Procedure of Selection :

1. Written Examination - The written exam is held fundamentally on two motifs one is Mathematics and the other is General Aptitude. Both the exams are conducted on the same day and 2 ½ hours are assigned to each subject. Where the General Aptitude paper is of 600 marks and the Mathematics paper is of 300 marks.

2. Interview Round - The NDA SSB Interview round also comprises two fundamental steps. The first being the Officer Intelligence Rating and the second consists of Interviews, Psychology Tests, Group Testing Officer Tasks etc.

3. Medical - The medical test is also done in two steps. The primary one being the general physical check up whereas the next is the detailed medical examination.
